How Contraceptives Like Implanon Cause Abortions

Birth Control / Contraceptives

Have you ever noticed that multi-million dollar advertising campaigns for the birth control pill put more emphasis on the theory that it clears up acne than its real purpose?

How many women would take a drug to treat acne, if the possible side affects were weight gain, depression, increased irritability, reduced sexual desire and a higher risk of strokes, heart attacks, breast cancer and more? These are all possible side-effects of the pill.
Contraception is a touchy subject. Even the companies that sell it, gloss over its main function and possible side effects – especially that some contraceptives may cause abortions.
In this section, we will cover:
  • How Contraceptives Cause Abortions
  • How Does The Pill Work?
  • Contraceptives That Act as Abortifacients
  • Other Forms of Contraception
  • More Contraception Leads to More Abortions
  • The Acne Question

How Contraceptives Cause Abortions

Abortifacient = a drug or device that induces an abortion
Certain contraceptives act as abortifacients by preventing the fertilized egg (conceived child) from implanting in the uterine wall. The drug or device causes the endometrium (lining of the uterus) to become hard, slippery or irritated so the conceived child does not implant in the uterus and is expelled from the woman’s body. Contraceptives that can act as abortifacients are:
  • The Pill
  • IUD (Inter-Uterine Device)
  • Depo-provera (Injection)
  • Lunelle (Injection)
  • The Implant–Implanon (replacement for Norplant)
  • Emergency Contraception (EC, “The Morning After Pill)
No form of contraception is 100 percent guaranteed. Contraceptives cannot protect against sexually transmitted diseases.

The Conception Deception

Abortion industry proponents argue that life does not begin until the fertilized egg is “implanted” in the womb, so therefore, these contraceptives do not cause abortions. Do not give in to this fraud. The “life begins at implantation” argument was created for political purposes and is contrary to scientific and medical fact. Life begins at conception, when a unique individual is created.

How Does The Pill Work?

The Pill is the most popular form of birth control, but it is controversial because it can also act as an abortifacient.

The Pill (Combination Pill)

A pill that suppresses ovulation by the combined actions of the hormones estrogen and progestin. A chewable form was approved in November 2003. It must be taken on daily schedule, regardless of frequency of intercourse.
The Pill has three effects on the body:
  • Suppresses ovulation
  • Changes mucus (prevents sperm and egg from meeting)
  • As an Abortifacient: Hardens the endometrium (lining of the uterus), preventing a fertilized egg from implanting in the uterine wall – thus, causing an abortion.
Pregnancy rate:
1-2 pregnancies per 100 women per year with perfect use. Pregnancy rate is higher for irregular use and higher for women who are overweight.
Common side effects:
Weight gain, nausea, mood swings, depression, breast pain, reduced sex drive.
Serious Risks:
Blood clots, high blood pressure, strokes, liver tumors, ovarian cysts, breast cancer and migraines. Women who smoke, are over age 35, or have a history of blood clots or breast or endometrial cancer are more at risk for dangerous side effects and may not be able to take The Pill.

Mini Pill (Progestin only)

A pill containing only the hormone progestin that reduces and thickens cervical mucus to prevent the sperm from reaching the egg. Must be taken on daily schedule, regardless of frequency of intercourse. May act as an abortifacient by hardening or irritating the uterine lining and expelling a conceived child.
Pregnancy rate:
2 pregnancies per 100 women per year with perfect use. Pregnancy rate is higher for irregular use.
Common side effects:
Irregular periods, weight gain, nausea, mood swings, depression, breast pain, reduced sex drive.
Serious Risks:
Ectopic pregnancy, ovarian cists, blood clots, high blood pressure, strokes, liver tumors, migraines. Women who smoke, are over age 35, or have a history of blood clots or breast or endometrial cancer are more at risk for dangerous side effects and may not be able to take The Pill or Mini Pill.

Contraceptives that Act as Abortifacients

In addition to The Pill and Mini-Pill, there are many other contraceptives that can abort a child:
Intrauterine Devices (IUD)
A T-shaped device inserted into the uterus by a health professional. Some IUDs release active chemicals, such as progestin or copper, which has the same effects as the pill in suppressing ovulation, preventing the egg and sperm from meeting and preventing implantation. After insertion by physician, the IUD can remain in place for up to one or 10 years, depending on type. If the IUD moves out of place, it may have to be removed by a surgical procedure. May act as an abortifacient by hardening or irritating the uterine lining and expelling a conceived child.
Pregnancy rate:
Less than 1 pregnancy per 100 women per year, if the IUD stays in place.
Common side effects:
Painful cramping, bleeding, anemia.
Serious Risks:
Pelvic inflammatory disease, perforation of uterus, damage to other internal organs, ectopic pregnancy, infertility. In the 1970s, the Dalkon Shield IUD was recalled from the market, because it resulted in the deaths of at least 12 women. Since then, other IUDs have taken its place.
Injection (Depo-Provera, DMPA or “The Shot”)
An injectable progestin that inhibits ovulation, prevents sperm from reaching the egg, and prevents the fertilized egg from implanting in the uterus. One injection every three months. May act as an abortifacient by hardening or irritating the uterine lining and expelling a conceived child.
Pregnancy rate:
Less than 1 pregnancy per 100 women per year. Women who become pregnant on Depo-Provera risk fetal deformity and infant mortality.
Common side effects:
Irregular bleeding, weight gain, breast pain, headaches, dizziness, nervousness, rash or skin discoloration, depression, increase or decrease in facial and body hair, hair loss, reduced sex drive. Can take a year to get pregnant after discontinuing use.
Serious Risks:
Osteoporosis (from loss of bone mass), breast cancer, cervical cancer, jaundice, blood clots, infertility.
Injection (Lunelle)
An injectable form of progestin and estrogen. One injection every month. May act as an abortifacient by hardening or irritating the uterine lining and expelling a conceived child.
Pregnancy rate:
Less than 1 pregnancy per 100 women per year
Common side effects:
Vaginal bleeding, weight gain, acne, nausea, headache, change in appetite, dizziness, mood swings, depression, breast pain, hair loss, reduced sex drive.
Serious Risks:
Osteoporosis, blood clots, high blood pressure, strokes, fluid retention, liver tumors, ovarian cysts, vaginal infections, breast cancer, vision problems, speech problems, gall bladder disease, migraines.
The Implant (Implanon)
A matchstick-sized plastic rod surgically implanted under the skin of the upper arm that steadily releases progestin (etonogestrel). Implanted and removed by health-care provider in minor outpatient surgical procedure; effective for up to five years. This was the replacement for Norplant, which was pulled from the market by the maker of Norplant in 2002. May act as an abortifacient by hardening or irritating the uterine lining and expelling a conceived child.
Pregnancy rate:
n.a.
Common side effects:
Menstrual periods may become irregular and unpredictable; weight gain, acne, headaches, mood swings, anxiety, breast pain, nausea, dizziness, back pain, pain at the injection area, reduced sex drive.
Serious Risks:
Blood clots in the legs and/or lungs, vision problems (from retinal vein thrombosis), strokes and heart attacks, dark spots on skin around face. In addition, other problems may occur when Implanon is inserted or removed, such as: formation of scar tissue around the implant, infection, need for surgical removal in a hospital.
The Patch (Ortho Evra)
Skin patch worn on the lower abdomen, buttocks, or upper body that releases the hormones progestin and estrogen into the bloodstream. New patch is applied once a week for three weeks. Patch is not worn during the fourth week, and woman has a menstrual period. May act as an abortifacient by hardening or irritating the uterine lining and expelling a conceived child.
Pregnancy rate:
1-2 pregnancies per 100 women per year (Appears to be less effective in women weighing more than 198 pounds.)
Common side effects:
Headaches, nausea, mood swings, weight gain, breast pain, bleeding.
Serious Risks:
Includes blood clots, strokes, heart attacks, cervical cancer. According to the manufacturer, Ortho Evra will expose the user to 60 percent more estrogen than an ordinary birth control pill, increasing the risks of blood clots in the legs and/or the lungs. In at least one study, the risks were double that of an ordinary birth control pill.
Intrauterine Device (IUD)
A foreign body made of a non-reactive plastic inserted into the uterus to prevent implantation of the developing human being. Some IUD’s include active chemicals, such as progesterone or copper, which slowly diffuse into the uterus for an enhanced abortifacient effect.
The Ring (Nuva Ring)
A flexible ring about two inches in diameter that is inserted into the vagina and releases the hormones progestin and estrogen. Inserted by the woman; remains in the vagina for three weeks, then is removed for one week. If ring is expelled and remains out for more than three hours, another birth control method must be used until ring has been used continuously for seven days. May act as an abortifacient by hardening or irritating the uterine lining and expelling a conceived child.
Pregnancy rate:
1-2 pregnancies per 100 women per year
Common side effects:
Vaginal discharge, vaginitis, irritation, weight gain, nausea, mood swings, depression, breast pain, reduced sex drive.
Serious Risks:
Blood clots, high blood pressure, strokes, liver tumors, ovarian cysts, breast cancer and migraines.

Emergency Contraceptives, The Morning After Pill (Brands: Plan B and Preven)

Emergency Contraception is essentially a high dosage of the hormone found in The Pill, containing either progestin alone or progestin plus estrogen. May act as an abortifacient by hardening or irritating the uterine lining and expelling a conceived child.
Plan B is a specific brand which contains the hormone progestin levonorgestrel, a high dosage of the same ingredient found in many birth control pills, without the estrogen. Preven contains progestin plus estrogen. Emergency Contraception must be taken within 72 hours of having unprotected intercourse.
Pregnancy rate:
Proponents of Plan B said it is 89 percent effective, while combined estrogen and progesterone emergency contraception is around 75 percent effective. However a doctor from the FDA who opposed Plan B, pointed out a flaw in the research: there are certain times of the month where a woman is infertile and not likely to get pregnant. The “89 percent effective” number included women who took Plan B during their cycle when they were least likely to get pregnant. When women were actually fertile, Plan B was only 51-60 percent effective.
Common side effects:
Nausea, weight gain, mood swings, depression, breast pain, abdominal pain, fatigue, headache, diarrhea.
Serious Risks:
(Similar to The Pill): Blood clots, high blood pressure, strokes, liver tumors, ovarian cysts, breast cancer and migraines. Women who smoke, are over age 35, or have a history of blood clots or breast or endometrial cancer are more at risk for dangerous side effects.
Wide distribution of Plan B can increase the number of abortions. In Britain, where they have already been distributing Plan B, a recent study from the British Department of Health showed about 2,400 girls who were 13 or under were given Plan B without their parents’ knowledge. At the same time, abortions in Britain increased by 6,000 in one year, the biggest increase was in girls under 16.

More Contraception Leads to More Abortions

Free or state-sponsored contraceptive distribution programs do not reduce the number of abortions – they increase them. Why? Because contraception fails. The Supreme Court in its Planned Parenthood vs. Casey decision, admits the failure of contraception:
“In some critical respects abortion is of the same character as the decision to use contraception…. For two decades of economic and social developments, people have organized intimate relationships and made choices that define their views of themselves and their places in society, in reliance on the availability of abortion in the event that contraception should fail.”
United State Supreme Court Planned Parenthood vs. Casey (6/29/92)
The Alan Guttmacher Institute, the research arm of Planned Parenthood ranks Iowa as 48th in the nation in birth control availability. At the same time, Iowa has one of the lowest teen abortion rates in the nation, with just 12 abortions / 1,000 teens. Other Midwest states that also ranked low on Guttmacher’s list had similarly low teen abortion rates:
South Dakota (#40 – 7 abortions/1,000 teens)
Kansas (#42 – 12 abortions/1,000 teens)
Iowa (#42 – 12 abortions/1,000 teens)
Indiana (#49 – 12 abortions/1,000 teens)
North Dakota (#50 – 8 abortions/1,000 teens)
Nebraska (#51* – 12 abortions/1,000 teens)
* Nebraska is ranked #51, because the District of Columbia was included in the study.
Planned Parenthood opened a clinic in St. Cloud, Minnesota in 2001. From 2001-2004, abortions in the four-county area around the clinic rose 10 percent, while abortions statewide went down.

Other Facts:

  • Only 8% of all abortions are performed on women who have never used contraception.
  • 54% of women having abortions used contraception that month.

The Acne Question

Can birth control pills clear up acne?
Acne can be created by an increase of male hormones in the body – it usually shows up at the times in life when hormones surge, such as adolescence, during pregnancy and menopause. Every body has both male and female hormones. An increase in male hormones causes the sebaceous glands to produce excess oil that is trapped with dirt and dead skin cells, leading to acne outbreaks.
Birth control pills release artificial female hormones (estrogen and or progestin) that, in theory, will restrict the ovaries from producing too much male hormone.
Ortho Tri-cyclen, approved by the Food & Drug Administration to treat “mild” or “moderate” acne in patients over age 15, lists among the risks on its manufacturer’s website as: “blood clots, stroke and heart attacks.”
(Sources: Food & Drug Administration: http://www.fda.gov/cder/foi/nda/96/020681ap.pdf; Ortho Tri-Cyclen website: www.orthotricyclen.com)
Why Birth Control Pills Are Not a Good Treatment for Acne:
1. Not a permanent solution. Once you go off the pill, the acne may return and be worse than before.
2. Risks are worse than acne: blood clots, strokes, heart attacks, liver tumors, ovarian cysts, migraines
3. Other bad side effects: weight gain, nausea, mood swings, depression

MASS FAILURE OF THE CONTRACEPTIVE IMPLANON

MASS FAILURE OF THE CONTRACEPTIVE IMPLANON

John Jansen January 7, 2011

Coming on the heels of the news earlier this week about increased contraception use leading to increased abortion in Spain, another story has come out of the UK reporting that hundreds of women on the long-term contraceptive Implanon have become pregnant. Many of these women have sued, and some have already received compensation from the National Health Service (England’s publicly funded healthcare system) for having been “traumatised by unexpectedly becoming pregnant.” From Contraception Failure to Abortion to Post-Abortion Trauma One woman mentioned in the article says that her “marriage collapsed and she suffered nightmares for months” after aborting the child she conceived whilst on Implanon. This woman’s tragic experience is emblematic of why those in the “pro-choice” movement won’t touch this story with a ten-foot pole. Not only is an instance of mass contraceptive failure a punch in the gut to the strenuous pro-contraception message they always and everywhere put forth, but couple that with the fact that many of the women who were on it ended up pregnant, had abortions, and then suffered psychological trauma — which really throws a spanner in the works of their adamant denial of post-abortion aftermath. Not to be deterred, it’s full steam ahead for Big Contraception: we also learned this week that the global contraceptives market is forecast to grow to $14.5 billion (that’s $14,500,000,000) by 2016.

Implanon is abortifacient

The Birth Control Implant: Implanon

Implanon is a thin rod that is inserted under the skin of the upper arm. The rod contains a synthetic hormone called etonogestrel that is released into the body over a three-year period. The manufacturer advises that during the third year less etonogestrel is released, thus making the rod less effective in preventing (or destroying) pregnancy.

How does it work?

Implanon works in three ways:
  1. It can prevent ovulation (the release of an egg from the ovary);
  2. It causes cervical mucus to thicken, which makes it difficult for a sperm to fertilize an egg.; and
  3. If that action fails, Implanon alters the lining of the uterus. This action is not painful to the woman, but can be deadly to the embryonic human being.
After the embryo's life begins, the tiny boy or girl must travel to the wall of the womb to implant. Because Implanon works to alter the wall of the uterus, this tissue becomes inhospitable to the new human being. The embryo cannot attach to the wall of the womb and get nourishment, so he or she dies.

WARNING: You may be told that the Implanon does not cause an abortion. This statement is based on the fact that many doctors decided to change the definition of when pregnancy begins, saying it only begins when the human embryo attaches to the wall of the mother's uterus.. This is dishonest and scientifically false. Don't be misled. Ask to see the product package insert, and you will read for yourself exactly how Implanon works.

Is Implanon safe?

No. Here are some of the side possible effects:
  • irregular and unpredictable bleeding patterns
  • a slight increase in weight
  • pain at the site of the insertion
  • headache
  • migraine
  • acne
  • breast pain
  • increased blood pressure
  • increased blood clots
  • abdominal pain
  • changes in libido
  • no menstrual cycle

Implanon offers no protection against sexually transmitted diseases, including AIDS.

What is my best option?

Some people may try to convince you that Implanon is totally without risk. But that is not true. Don't depend on Implanon. It could be harmful to you. It could kill your baby - without you even knowing it.

If you're single, abstinence is always your best choice. It isn't always easy, but it always works. By abstaining from sex, you eliminate the possibility of pregnancy and sexually transmitted disease.

If you're married, be faithful to your spouse. Take time to learn about natural methods for spacing children, which will also increase your awareness of your body and how it works.

Be good to yourself. Don't use Implanon.

SOGIE Bill Should Be Junked by Dr. Bernardo M. Villegas, Ph.D. (Harvard) Member, Constitutional Commission, 1986

SOGIE Bill Should Be Junked

by Dr. Bernardo M. Villegas, Ph.D. (Harvard)
Member, Constitutional Commission, 1986

In their well-intentioned fight for the human rights of lesbians, gays, transgenders and bisexuals (LGTB), members of the Lower House have passed a bill that will violate some  of the most fundamental human rights contained in our Constitution:  the freedom of conscience, the freedom of religious belief, the freedom of speech and academic freedom.  I hope the honourable members of the Senate will be able to prevent this series of violations of our Constitution (of which I was one of the framers) by significantly amending, if not junking outright the House version.  The bill has been labelled  SOGIE (Sexual Orientation or Gender Identity or Expression) and is now due for second reading in the Senate, which means the period for debates and amendments.
The House version is full of inaccurate or clearly erroneous assumptions.  There is much talk about discrimination against gays and transgenders in Philippine society.  One only has to look around and observe the proliferation of very successful and highly respected LGTB people in the entertainment world, media, fashion, and other fields in which Filipinos are well known for their creativity.  There are even beauty and talent contests organised exclusively for them.  Many of them are free to join mainstream talent shows and come out winners in a good number of them.  Having resided in the Malate area around the Remedios Circle as a high school student at De La Salle, I observed how well homosexuals integrated in the community, even organizing their own Santacruzan and other religious processions.  Except for gangsters who victimised all sorts of people whatever their sexual orientation, I never felt that there was discrimination against the gays of Malate.
As one of the framers of the Philippine Constitution, I find the following provisions, still retained in the Senate version, dangerous because they can violate the human rights of others:
Discriminatory practices:  It shall be unlawful for any person, natural or juridical to:  a)  Promote and encourage stigma on the basis of SOGIE in the media, in educational textbooks, and other medium; b) Include SOGIE, as well as the disclosure of sexual orientation, in the criteria for hiring, promotion, transfer, designation, work assignment, re-assignment, dismissal of workers, and other human resource movement and action performance review and in the determination of employee compensation, career development opportunities, training, and other learning and development interventions, incentives, privileges, benefits or allowances, and other terms and conditions of employment;  c) Refuse admission or expel a person from any educational or training institution on the basis of SOGIE:  Provided, however, that the right of educational and training institutions to determine the academic qualifications of their students or trainees shall be duly upheld; and d)  Deny an applicant for or revoke, on the basis for SOGIE, any government license, authority, clearance, permit, certification, or other similar documents necessary to exercise a profession, business, or any other legitimate calling.
The above provisions may appear harmless at first sight.  They, however, can lead to the violation of certain basic human rights safeguarded by our Constitution.  First, there is the freedom of conscience.  i do not even have to invoke any religious belief to express what I can arrive at by the use of natural reason alone when I make the observation that Nature is such that human beings (like others who belong to the animal kingdom) can be classified biologically as male or female.  I can cite enough expert findings of scientists who will defend this view, even if there may be contrary opinions being espoused by some fringe scientists.  Freedom of conscience and freedom of speech should give me the right to opine, on the basis of my scientific convictions, that LGBT are aberrations from the normal.  As long as I  respect the basic human rights of those whom I consider as exception to the rule of nature, I should be able to act according to my scientific belief that I should treat them differently from the non-LGBT crowd.
On the positive side, as is already being done by many employers, I may recommend people from the LGBT community  to be employed as fashion designers, hairdressers,  ballet dancers, script writers, entertainers, etc in which empirical evidence shows that they have a distinct talent advantage.  In fact, having done a lot of research on the BPO-IT industry in the Philippines, I can attest to the empirical observation that a good number of BPO workers, especially the voice-oriented, belong to the LGBT crowd. On the contrary side, I will be wary in recommending the homosexuals to be pupils or teachers in schools for boys or  to be seminarians studying for the priesthood, because of the moral dangers of sexual abuse.  That is why, I strongly object to the provision that educational institutions should not able to refuse admission on the basis of sexual orientation.  These institutions  are just providing for  the moral safety of their constituents.  Let me be very frank:  most of  the child abuse scandals that have  sullied the reputation of the Catholic Church could have been avoided if the seminaries were stricter in examining the sexual orientation of those who apply to study for the priesthood.  For this reason, I think it wrong to specify only academic criteria for admission in educational institutions.  Moral criteria can be even more important  than academic qualifications for the welfare of the majority of the students.
As a writer and educator, I strongly object to the  provision penalising opinions expressing the abnormality of certain sexual orientations, based on my scientific research.  It would also violate my freedom of religion because my Catholic faith expressly states in the Catechism of the Catholic Church that homosexual acts (not orientation in itself) are intrinsically evil  (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 2357 -59).  Because of this religious conviction, it should be lawful for an enterprise—whether commercial or educational—that is cultivating a corporate culture based on the teachings of the Catholic Church, to expel an employee that has been proved to entice co-employees to engage in homosexual acts.  Every institution should be free to set moral standards according to the beliefs of the owners and managers.  In fact, I have suggested to BPO managers to lay off their male workers who have been proved to engage in homosexual acts because of the strong empirical evidence that sexual intercourse among males is the most frequent source of HIV diseases.  Such a policy would not be an act of discrimination but a prudent measure to safeguard  the health of the employees as well as to  enhance the productivity of the work force.
It must also be pointed out that when the Catholic Church teaches that homosexual acts are intrinsically morally evil, she is not discriminating against homosexuals.  All other uses of sex that are outside marriage and are not open to the transmission of life are also morally evil.  Thus homosexual acts are in the same category as masturbation, prostitution, adultery, fornication and the use of artificial contraceptives as immoral because all of these involve the use of sex that  is not within God’s plan for marriage and the family.  The degree of guilt will depend on the usual determinants of morality, i.e. whether or not there is full knowledge and  full deliberation, as well as the circumstances surrounding the act.  Among the conditions to be considered in judging the morality of homosexual acts are the absence of supportive parental relationships, false education, lack of normal sexual development, poor habits and even peer pressure.  This stresses the importance of giving parents, guardians and teachers the moral authority to provide a healthy environment for the normal sexual development of children and the youth.
In the name of freedom of conscience and of religion, we should therefore strongly object to the House Version which stipulates  that parents should be penalised if they prevent  a child from exhibiting or expressing one’s sexual orientation or gender identity.  Parents are endowed with the inalienable right to foster the right moral values among their children, according to their religious beliefs.  Catholic parents who practise their faith will make sure that their children are helped to overcome any same sex orientation because they are concerned with  the future  moral welfare of their offspring.  As mentioned above, the Catholic faith is very clear about the moral teaching that homosexual acts are intrinsically evil and can condemn a person to hell if unrepented.  Parents are only thinking of the salvation of the souls of their children when they try their best to help their children  to rid themselves of same sex attractions which could easily lead to their engaging in same sex acts when they come of age.  Although not everyone will agree, there is enough evidence from behavioural sciences that same sex orientation can be cured.  Parents should not be denied this hope that with the right upbringing practices, they can help their children who manifest same sex orientation early in life to cultivate what they consider the more normal sexual behaviour.  It would be against their parental rights to deny them this right to include what they consider normal sexual behaviour as part of the character education of their children.  Obviously, in practising character education, parents are never allowed to inflict or threaten to inflict bodily or physical harm against the child.  This is already included in laws protecting children welfare and does not need separate legislation.
As an economics professor, I would strongly object to my being penalised for teaching or writing that LGBT behaviour will harm the future of the Philippine economy.  I have written profusely on the economic crises and declines of practically all the advanced countries of both West and East because of very low fertility rates.  Every economist knows about the demographic winter being faced by such countries as Japan, Singapore, South Korea and Hong Kong as well as practically all Western European countries, except France.  It is a no brainer that widely promoting same sex unions can lead to a big drop in fertility in the future since except for the very complicated practice of  artificial insemination, these unions are usually childless.  It would be against my academic freedom if I am prevented to express my objection to same sex unions because of this scientific observation I am making as an economist.
As a final note, let me be clear that nothing every justifies demonising, condemning or insulting a human being on the basis of his or  sexual orientation.  Pope Francis already set the example by answering “Who am I to judge?” when asked early in his pontificate what he thought about gays.  The very fact that a person has same sex orientation does not mean that he or she is actually engaging in same-sex intercourse.  He or she may be a very moral or disciplined person who, through human effort and with the help of the Sacraments or other sources of grace such as prayer and sacrifice, is actually avoiding homosexual acts.  Therefore, those of us who have relatives, friends, employees and other personal contacts who manifest same sex orientation should deal with them with  great respect and sympathy.  It would be morally wrong to avoid dealing with them.  As I wrote above, they can be some of the most talented and productive persons we can deal with.  If, however, we have enough evidence that they are actually living a gay lifestyle (having same sex intercourse), those of who us who are parents and educators as well as employers building a desirable corporate culture should at least be wary that they do not corrupt by their personal example those who are under our care.  Nothing will ever change the teaching of the Catholic church that same-sex intercourse is intrinsically evil.  Society owes it to us practising Catholics (and may I add Muslims who are even stricter in this regard) to respect our right to safeguard the morals of the people who depend on us for guidance and advice.    For all these reasons, I recommend that the Senate should junk the SOGIE bill handed to it by the Lower House.  For comments, my email address is bernardo.villegas@uap.asia

Another REAL EXORCISM: Oct.14, 2017, from the post by Fr. Winston Fernandez Cabading

"Another post from Fr. Winston Cabading illustrating the important role of our Blessed Mother not only in the Exorcism Ministry but in the life of a true follower of Christ.
Winston Fernandez Cabading
In a real exorcism last Saturday, Oct 14, that lasted more than 3 hrs straight...
Setting: Adoration Chapel
Victim: 20+ yr old Filipino from the province. Fairly educated. Pious in upbringing. During the possessed state, the victim spoke only in Pilipino.
Exorcist: The glorious Mother of God commands you. She, who from the first moment of her conception, crushed your proud head.
Demoniac: (in a very enraged voice with spitefulness) Babae lang siya! Tao lang sya! Bakit Niya ibinigay sa kanya ang korona na dapat ay sa amin.... (trans. She is just a woman! She is merely a human being! Why did He gave her the crown that is supposed to be ours?)
Exorcist: Hail Mary full of grace...
Demoniac: Aaahhh itigil ninyo yan nakakabingi ang pangalan na yan! PI ninyo papatayin namin kayo! (trans. Stop it! Her name is deafening! (cuss word) We will kill you all!)
Exorcist: (reciting the Dominican Litany to Mary to be said during tribulations) Mary, abode of the Angels. Pray for us.
Demoniac: (with a terrifying scream then growling) Aaaaahhhh. Itigil ninyo yan. (trans. Stop it!)
Exorcist: Holy Mary, abode of the angels (repeated 10x)
Demoniac: Aaaaahhhh. Hindi kami pumayag na iluklok siya mas mataas pa sa amin. Ngunit pinlano Niya lahat iyon na ibigay sa kanya ang kaluwalhatian. Dahil sa kanya itinapon kami. (trans. We did not accede to have her placed higher than us. But He planned it all to give to her the glory. Because of this we were cast out!.)
Exorcist : (inviting those assisting him to sing the Salve Regina in latin)
Demoniac: PI ninyo bakit ninyo sya tinatawag? Tao lang sya! Hindi sya diyos! (trans. (cuss words) Why are you calling on her? She is merely a human being! She is not a god!)
Exorcist and assistants: Eia ergo advocata nostra... O clemens, o pia... o dulcis Virgo Maria...
Demoniac: (in shrieking terror as if terrified with what it sees) Aaaaaaah! Itigil ninyo yan! Tama na hirap na hirap na kami! (trans. Stop it! Stop it! We are already in terrible suffering!)
Demoniac: (returns to conscious state from trance state.)
Exorcist: (addressing the victim to test if it is really the victim) Say from your heart "Praise be Jesus and Mary!
Victim: Praise be Jesus and M... Nooooo! (enters into trance and possessed state again)
Demoniac: Hindi namin sya pupurihin kailanman! Tao lang sya! (trans. We will never glorify her! She is just a human being!)
Exorcist: O August Queen of Heaven! Sovereign Mistress of the angels! Thou who from the beginning hast received from God the power and mission to crush the head of Satan, we humbly beseech thee to send thy holy Legions, that, under thy command and by thy power, they may pursue the evil spirits,...
Demoniac: (in a horrified scream) Itigil ninyo yan! Nahihirapan na kami. Galit kami sa babaeng iyan! Siya ang sumira ng lahat ng plano namin... (trans. Shut up! We are in agony. We hate that woman! She is the one that destroyed all our plans!)
Exorcist: Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us (repeating 10x)
Demoniac: (in a surrendering yet angry and defiant tone) Napakalinis niya. Galit kami sa babaeng iyan! Wala kaming kapangyarihan laban sa kanya! (trans. She is immaculate. We abhor that woman! We do not have power over her!)
Lesson learned: Demons may say anything against the Blessed Virgin Mary. But they are truly terrified of her. For they know by her humility, faith in God, and yes to the message of an angel, God became flesh, and the devil's plan was destroyed forever. All who hate her, therefore, align themselves with the devil who abhors her extremely. I have seen the virulence of the devil and his minions of fallen angels against the Blessed Mother and it is not too far from the virulence of some "Christians" against her."

REAL EXORCISM: Reactions of a demoniac during particular prayers, Sept. 27, 2017

"A post from Fr. Winston Cabading, OP, one of the exorcists in the Archdiocese of Manila. Our Beloved Mother Mary really never fails to pray for us. ❤️

Winston Fernandez Cabading
Here are snippets of the reactions of a demoniac during particular prayers in a real exorcism dated September 24, 2017 that lasted more than 3 hours straight.
Setting: Adoration Chapel
Victim: 20+ yr old Filipina who came from a rural area. During the entire possession state, she spoke in straight English with no local accent whatsoever, as if a native speaker of that language, sometimes she spoke in clear Spanish.
Exorcist: (kneeling before the exposed Blessed Sacrament) O Sacrament Most Holy, O Sacrament Divine, all praise and all thanksgiving be every moment Thine.
Demoniac: (with a mocking laughter) Why are you worshipping that “pan”? Worship me instead. I am immortal and powerful. He just gave you bread, nothing more. (Followed by a growl)
Exorcist: (commanding the demon to worship God) Kneel before His holy presence in the Eucharist, unclean spirit! Kneel and worship Him, your Creator and God!
Demoniac: Neverrrrrrrr!
Exorcist: (instructing all those assisting him to kneel before the Blessed Sacrament with heads bowed) O Sacrament Most Holy, O Sacrament Divine, all praise and all thanksgiving…
Demoniac: (shouting with fury) Do not worship Him! Worship me! He gives you nothing! I can give you everything! I own the world! I own everything in it! I can give it to you!
Exorcist: Holy, holy, holy, Lord God of hosts. Heaven and earth are full of your glory…
Demoniac: (Hissing and cursing) We were there, glorious and immortal. He threw us out of His presence. We did not accept His plan for you.
Exorcist: (praying the Litany of the Saints) Lord, have mercy on us…Christ, have mercy on us…Lord, have mercy on us.
Demoniac: (with a snarled voice and mocking) There is no mercy for you. You are just like us. Rebellious, disobedient, sinnnnerrrrrs!
Exorcist: Holy Mary, pray for us.
Demoniac: (face tightening) No! Stop it! Do not call that woman!
Exorcist: St. Michael…St. Gabriel…St. Raphael…
Demoniac: (a change in the pronoun used by the demoniac from first person plural to singular) I was more glorious than them. Aaaaahhhhh (in a very furious tone). Call on me and I will answer you!
Exorcist: (calling on each of the saints in the litany) St. Joseph…St. Augustine… St. Dominic…
Demoniac: (answering the litany with rage) Sinners! Sinners! Sinners all of them!
Exorcist: From all evil, deliver us O Lord… From all sin…
Demoniac: (jeering) You ask God to deliver you from evil and sin? You love sin. That is why we are here with you. Your sin will all destroy you. In a few years the whole world will be ours because of you. Darkness will cover you all. (laughing with scorn) Do you not see it and experience it? It is already here.
Exorcist: That you govern and preserve your holy Church, we beg you to hear us.
Demoniac: I will destroy her!
Exorcist: That you humble the enemies of holy Church…
Demoniac: You are her enemies. These priests and religious that serve her. (then started to laugh with scorn) they are all unfaithful. They invited us even in their own houses with the things they do and practice. We will destroy them all from the inside. (then looking with raging eyes on one religious sister who was assisting) Yes, sister, your congregation has nothing of the holiness of your father (mentioning the name of a great saint where the congregation takes its inspiration). We will destroy you soon. We are already inside.
Exorcist: That you lift up our minds to heavenly desires, we beg you to hear us.
Demoniac: You all desire sin more than heaven. You do more evil things. (sneering laughter)
Exorcist: (started praying in latin using the Ritual) Praecipio tibi, quicumque es, spiritus immunde, et omnibus sociis tuis hanc dei famulan obsidentibus: ut per mysteria incarnationis, passionis, resurrectionis et ascensionis Domini nostri Jesu Christi, per missionem Spiritus Sancti, et per adventum ejusdem Domini nostri at judicium, dicas clare mihi nomen tuum, dicas clare mihi nomen tuum, dicas clare mihi nomen tuum, dicas clare mihi nomen tuum, dicas clare mihi nomen tuum…
Demoniac: Satanas! Padre, I know your sins…I will accuse you all at the hour of your death.
Exorcist: (repeating the command) Dicas clare mihi nomen tuum…
Demoniac: Lucifer! You think you worship God, Padre? Humanity worships me everytime. They worship me in their movies, their music, and their dances. (then in a whisper) I am there whenever they only please themselves. (scorning laughter). You are wasting your time, Padre. She is ours, the world is ours. Humanity has rejected God.
Exorcist: Prorsus in omnibus obedias! Prorsus in omnibus obedias! Prorsus in omnibus obedias!
Demoniac: (growling voice) How dare you command us? You are just a man. We are immortal! You are just a priest. We are more powerful!
Exorcist: Prorsus in omnibus obedias!
Demoniac: We will not subject ourselves to you! Aaaahhh (as if in terrible agony)
Exorcist: Our Father…
Demoniac: He is no father to you. You do not listen to Him…. Stop that praying!
Assisting Sister: (started singing all joined her) Hail Mary, full of grace…
Demoniac: Stop that! Stop that! Stop that! She is just a woman! Damn you!
Assisting Sister and everyone: …pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death…
Demoniac: (growling) That woman never stops praying for you!
Exorcist: (instructing the sister and the others to sing the Salve Regina in latin)
Demoniac: Your queen is no queen to us! But He made her truly the queen! Damn her! Damn her! She destroyed everything!
Exorcist: (called everyone to recite the Nicene Creed) I believe in God the Father Almighty, …I believe in Jesus Christ …for us men and for our salvation, He came down from heaven…
Demoniac: (hissing and shouting expletives) There is no salvation for you!
Exorcist: (repeating that line over and over again) For us men and for our salvation, He came down from heaven…
Demoniac: (in exasperation) Nooooooooooo! Why should he become man? Why not become like us? He chose you over us! He chose you over us!
Exorcist: For us men and for our salvation, He came down from heaven. And by the power of the Holy Spirit, He became incarnate of the Virgin Mary and became man.
Demoniac: (infuriated) He chose her! He chose her to be His mother! Had we known it will be her, we would have killed her in the womb!
Exorcist: He will come again in glory to judge the living and dead and His kingdom will have no end…
Demoniac: (terrified) We suffer, we suffer terribly and fear the day of judgment to come.
Exorcist: Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and the whole world. (repeating 10x)
Demoniac: He should not be merciful to you. Yet, He has shown you mercy. You are all sinners and we will not stop until we bring you to damnation. We will bring many with us to hell!
Exorcist: Oh my Jesus, forgive us our sins. Save us from the fires of hell. Bring all souls to heaven, especially those who need most Thy mercy.
Demoniac: (surrendering but defiant) Noooooo!
Lessons Learned: Jesus is truly present in the Holy Eucharist. The devil recognizes that reality and fears it tremendously. But he sees the irreverent disposition of some Catholics toward the Blessed Sacrament and this gives him the opportunity to blaspheme it just like what some Christians do. Satan indeed is the accuser of mankind before God. He accuses us night and day. Lucifer wants to be worshiped like God and whenever we sin, the devil is emboldened. He is indeed a murderer from the beginning. Our hope is in God. Our Savior Jesus Christ came to save us. The devil is infuriated because of this. The Mother of God and the Saints in heaven unceasingly pray for our salvation. The Blessed Mother’s purity terrifies the demons. The devil will try their best to bring many to perdition. However, no matter how they try, when God stretches His hand of mercy, man will still be saved. Blessed be God! Blessed be His Holy Name! Pray unceasingly.
